Pay your Meralco Bill thru BDO Online

First of all, I am writing this post because the BDO agents doesn't help. They don't even know what numbers to enter. I just wasted my time when I decided to call them and ask...

MERALCO recently changed some subscriber numbers as part of their upgrade of computers in certain branches I think. So I had to re-enroll my account.

So here's the procedure:
1. Go to "Pay Bills" icon.
2. Click "Enroll Company/Biller".
3. Choose MERALCO from the drop down menu. Subscriber Number is the FIRST 11 DIGITS of your ATM/Phone Reference No. (You can see this at the bottom part of your bill) Subscriber Name is the name registered in your bill, you can find this at the top of your bill. Enter your preferred nickname then click Submit.
4. Click the "Pay Bills" icon again when you receive the confirmation of enrollment.
5. Choose which account to pay from then enter MERALCO in the biller section. Doing this will show your Subscriber No. and Name. It will ask you to enter an ATM/Phone Ref. No. Enter the LAST 5 DIGITS of your ATM/Phone Ref. No. (this changes every bill)
6. Enter the amount then click Submit.

Pay your bill on time bcoz BDO Online doesn't accept overdue payments. I guess the last digits of your ATM/Ref. No. expires. Good luck! :)

**UPDATE** October 21, 2015

So if all else fails and you cannot pay your bills online, try going to the nearest SM Bills Payment. I heard they can now accept late payments until 6 or 7 days past the due date. Cool right? Thank you, SM! :)

  1. Thank you Kat! That was really helpful! I wanna thank you personally for that. And also, I wanna add a bonus since you supply good information to people, I might just give you a bonus. An opportunity that might just be a big break for you specially financially. This might serve you a very good source of income. Probably the best source as it is for me. I am a millionaire and, like you, I share to people. Here's my digit if you wanna know how: 09175164642
P.S. I don't share cash, but I do share valuable information just like you do, but only to a few selected people.

  5. The offer is better opportunity than what employment can give, vs. sickeningly employment.

    1. You're welcome Nick! Glad I could help. Btw, if you try to pay your bill past your due date, it will just say there is an error, it won't push through with the payment so no worries. :)

  7. I don't understand why you can't pay a bill if it is past due. Any normal business would LOVE to get paid - ESPECIALLY if it was past due. It's only when you have a monopoly that you can be that grabe demanding. Again though, why do they disallow it??? It makes no sense. It is my belief they have that policy on purpose, to make it more difficult for the customer - kasi they want them to pay as early as possible. Its basically a punishment that only a monopoly could exact on a customer. The customer has no choice, nowhere else to get electricity. So, they are forced to take it in the ass. But, like so many things here, it's just plain bad business and a really stupid way of doing things. It makes for longer lines at the Meralco office and more manual work for an actual person to perform. Meralco could save a TON of money if they can automate these processes as much as possible and keep customers out of the business offices. They could reduce staff, save money, and maybe even bring the extremely high cost of electricity in the Philippines (double the cost in the US). That is shameful that people with so little money to work with are forced to pay double what the rest of the world pays. Corruption is the reason.

    1. I don't think its a punishment, you just have to pay your bills on time to lessen the hassle of paying your beyond-due-date-bill on a MERALCO branch. They provided you with the services you need, therefore you have to pay for it. Just like the rest of us... Working for our respective companies, for example, we provide them with our services and then we get paid (and expect to be PAID ON TIME) every 15th and end of month.

The cost of the electricity though and corruption could be a different discussion. Haha! :)

  8. The funds collected by BDO in behalf of MERALCO will first enter to their (BDO) bank account to earn interest until such time that they will remit it to MERALCO, another set of incoming payments will come. Making the account rolling and earning interest. If banks will receive payment for a past due transaction they cannot used it because it requires immediate remittance to MERALCO.
